Every country have their own history. In Malaysia, history have formed the identity of our country. This month our country will celebrate national day for the 57th years. George Satayana was said "people who forget history,for sure will repeat it". Based on this passage we learn that every race in our country must respect the freedom that our country already achieve. Therefore, every effort should be made to foster the spirit of national unity. There are many ways that can be taken to achieve unity among the various race in Malaysians.
Firstly, the ways that can be taken to foster the unity among the various race in Malaysians are from democracy to choosing the goverment. We must ensure that all citizens are eligible and do not violate state law, can voice their opinions,criticsms, and choose a sandicate in the elections freely and fairly. Who would will the election with a majority of votes entitled to be elected representatives can voice their aspiration through established channels such as the Dewan Rakyat or Dewan Negara.
Another ways to foster the national unity are from national principle. The goverment also have created a principle that can unite all the Malaysians which is know as National Principle( Rukun Negara). National principle were launched on August 31, 1970 is our national ideology. The five pillars of the principle as follows, belief in God, loyalty to the king and country, supremacy of the constitution, rule of law and behaviour and morality. The five principle are intended to establish a United Malaysian nation and a Malaysian society that is equitable,democratic, liberal and progressive.
Lastly, the ways to foster national unity is from sport. It is because children who play together and eventually will stand together as a nation when they become adults. On the other hand, goverment policies on national unity is the nature of integration, namely through the adjustment with a variety of cultural and social characteristics that can be accepted by all ethnics group in our country.
In the conclusion, as a Malaysian , we must have a patriotism spirit in ourself so that nobody can touch our freedom country. The 1Malaysia introduced by Dato Seri Najib Razak is also a good step to make national integration. The principles of 1Malaysia Foundation encourage public dicussion and participation in critical social development, public issues, programmers. Essentially, 1Malaysia Foundation takes every step possible to help achieve a truly United Malaysian Nation.
Efforts to enhance the spirit of patriotism among the people in our country is to give emphasis on the inculcation of patriotism from the primary school. In addition, make the change and give emphasis on this aspect of patriotism in the curriculum in schools and higher education institutions and the charge shall carry out a massive campaign through advertising. Consequently, government agencies will be responsible for carrying out activities in line with efforts to enhance the spirit of patriotism among the people in order to foster this spirit. Furthermore, patriotism also encouraged by the example and the example of the country's leaders and the leaders of the community regardless of race, religion and political affiliation. Therefore, efforts to foster the spirit of patriotism should be done all the time without stopping. This is so because, patriotism is important to produce a citizen who loves his country and will be useful to the individual's race, religion and homeland.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion .I suggest the way to foster national unity by New Economic Policy (NEP) launched in 1971 by the Rancangan Malaysia Kedua(1971-1975), is aimed at creating an economic balance between race and region to achieve national unity. in other words .the NEP was aimed at fostering national unity through the disturbtion of income and economic opportunities among all Malaysians.The NEP was implemented through a two-pronged startegy, namely eeradication of poverty irrespective of race, and restructing of society so that ethnic identification with economic function can be eliminated.
ReplyDeleteI think the one way for foster national day is political power sharing also can create the unity between the malaysians. Before our contry got the independence, the learder of the three main races which are malay, chinese and india have realized that political compromise and power sharing is essential in the guard and conducted fairly to avoid power misconduct and division. The important position in goverment, the seats in the election and the candidates contesting must be ensuring not only dominated by one ethnic.
ReplyDeletePeace and prosperity of a country should rely on unity in Malaysia. Various parties have to move the concrete compound, in accord commitments achieve harmony and national unity. Malay proverb says "goes round the water because sewer, round man for consensus". Unity is a very important mission for Malaysia to move towards nation building and become a country that can stand tall, sit low in developed countries. People are the most valuable asset in the construction of a multi-ethnic country in the vision Wawasan 2020.
